Hyderabad software engineer and married woman victimized in separate assaults

In recent incidents in Telangana, a software engineer and a married woman have been sexually assaulted in separate attacks.

In the first case, a software engineer was gang-raped by her childhood friend and another acquaintance at a hotel in Hyderabad. The victim had celebrated a new job with her childhood friend, Gautham Reddy, and another mutual friend at a bar in Vanasthalipuram. According to the Vanasthalipuram Police Inspector D. Jalender Reddy, after drinking at the bar, Reddy and the friend took the victim to a hotel room where they assaulted her. The victim and Reddy had been classmates from Class 2 through Class 10.

In a separate incident, a married woman traveling from Nirmal to Prakasam district in a private bus was sexually assaulted by the driver. The woman reported that the driver, Krishna, covered her mouth with a cloth and attacked her in the early hours of Tuesday. After the assault, Krishna fled, but the police intercepted the bus near Tarnaka and detained another driver, Seshaiah, for questioning. Osmania Police Inspector Rajender is leading the investigation into this case.
